POPIA notice

Last updated: 1 November 2026

The Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA) gives everyone in South Africa rights over their personal information. This page explains how Trade a Quote meets its obligations and how you can use your rights. For the detail of what we collect and why, see our privacy notice.

Information Officer

Future Investments Ventures (Pty) Ltd has appointed Gabor Adam Gulyas as its Information Officer, responsible for compliance with POPIA and for dealing with requests from data subjects.

How we meet the eight conditions for lawful processing

We may ask you to verify your identity before acting on a request, so that we never hand information to the wrong person. We respond within 30 days. Requests under POPIA are free. Copies of records requested under PAIA may attract the fees set in the PAIA regulations; see our PAIA manual.

If you are a client of a business that uses Trade a Quote

Your quotes, invoices and contact details belong to the business you deal with. That business is the responsible party and decides how your information is used; we are its operator. Send requests about that information to the business directly. If you cannot reach them, email us and we will pass the request on and help them respond.

Direct marketing

We send product news and offers by email only to people who opted in, as POPIA s69 requires, and every marketing email has an unsubscribe link. Service messages (such as invoices you are sent, password resets and billing notices) are not marketing and are always sent.

Security compromises

If we have reasonable grounds to believe personal information has been accessed by someone unauthorised, we notify the Information Regulator and the affected people as soon as reasonably possible, as POPIA s22 requires. Where the information belongs to a business's clients, we notify that business so it can notify them.
